Organic Orange Honey is a natural excellence, produced in Sicilian citrus groves cultivated with organic or integrated methods. These citrus groves are located in unpolluted areas, surrounded by fallow lands and pastures, where the predominance of different varieties of orange – such as Navelino, Tarocco, Moro, Sanguinello, and Valencia – contributes to the unique quality of the honey. The production areas include: Piana di Catania, known for the IGP Red Orange, and the coasts and valleys of Agrigento, home of the Riberella, IGP Blond Orange. The flowering of the orange tree occurs between April and May, with a medium-long period of about 15-20 days, during which the flowers spread an intense fragrance, especially in the early morning and in spring evenings. Characteristics: Aroma: intense and floral, evocative of orange flowers. Flavor: sweet and aromatic, with a slightly acidic note. Color: in liquid form it is almost colorless or straw yellow; when crystallized it becomes pearly white or light beige. Physical state: spontaneous crystallization that accelerates if stored in a refrigerator at 12°C. Beneficial properties: relaxing, promotes relaxation and calms anxiety, ideal for moments of tension. Digestive: after abundant meals, it helps to reduce stomach discomfort and, as an appetizer, stimulates appetite. Detoxifying: a spoonful before meals, pure or dissolved in warm water, is a natural remedy to detoxify the body. Nutrient: rich in vitamins and minerals, it has antioxidant properties that contrast free radicals. Recommended use: perfect as a natural sweetener, to spread on toasted bread or to accompany delicate cheeses. It can be dissolved in herbal teas or hot water to make the most of its properties.
