Bring a pot of abundant salted water to a boil and cook the fusilli al dente following the times indicated on the package.
Drain the pasta, reserving a ladleful of the cooking water.
Transfer the fusilli to a pan or a large bowl and mix them with the Pesto alla genovese. Add some of the cooking water if necessary to make the sauce creamier and more coating.
Transfer to plates, add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and finish with a few fresh basil leaves.
Serve immediately, piping hot.
